Quanming Shao, a folk music creator who navigates between the city and the mountains and sea, often leaves a slightly distant first impression because he belongs to the quieter type in groups. However, it's not hard to notice his insightful perspective, which makes one curious about his understanding of all things through his thoughts.
If there is a complete expression of all this, it is in his music. With a mature soul, the worldview he presents in his works is quiet, with a steadfast belief in his heart. His folk songs, like him, are characterized by a calm and refined context, with a voice rich in energy.
Quanming won the NCCU Golden Melody Award for Best Lyricist and the Grand Prize for Creation with "神的孩子不會跳舞(Children from Heaven)" at 2021.
After that, he held his first solo concert "身後有山(Mountains Behind the City)" at 女巫店(Witch House) in March 2022, and was later invited to perform at 野人祭(Savage Festival). In the same year, he received a subsidy from the Ministry of Culture for the production and release of popular music, and released his first work "天降(Falling)" in October 2023.
In January 2024, he held the "眾山圍城(Surrounded by Mountains)" concert at 臺北流行音樂中心(Taipei Music Center) Live House D and participated in 浮現祭(Emerge Fest) performance.
Recently, Quanming was encouraged to participate in the '藝術游擊(Art Guerrilla)' artist residency program in Matsu, experiencing the local culture and preparing for the creation of new works.
