Taiwan beats showcase 2024
Our Shame, the folksy electronica duo from Taiwan, released their debut album “Modern Problem” in the summer of 2022, and quickly became one of the most anticipated bands. Fusing the warmth and coldness of electronic music, the duo of producer/singer-songwriter Estelle H and percussionist Isan seeks something spiritual in the modern day technology addiction from an East Asian perspective.
In 2024, Our Shame plans to release their second album. Through this album, they intend to engage in more international collaborations and overseas touring plans.
What makes Our Shame’s work so distinctive is their suffusing pop song hooks with their atmospheric touch on societal issues. The duo was trained as tech consultants before they ventured into indie music scenes. To explore the connection between humanity and technology, they create a sound that both appeals to sci-fi fans and indie pop lovers through acoustic ballads, emotive synth arrangements, rattling beats and confessional vocals.
